The law firm Summons Abogados, based in Madrid but with an 'Alicante DNA,' opened its first branch outside the capital this week in Alicante. A 'return to its origins,' as its founders, Ignacio Montoro Iturbe-Ormaeche and Borja García Rato, both from Alicante, describe it. After working in several top-tier firms, the two decided to establish their own firm in 2018, and five years later they are expanding in their homeland.

To open the Summons office in Alicante, the firm has recruited lawyer José María Espinosa Mora as a partner, who joins after more than five years at the prestigious Uría Menéndez law firm. This marks the first step in their national expansion (Summons serves throughout the country), continuing the steady growth since its inception on Serrano Street in Madrid. The firm has established itself as a boutique legal practice providing tailored services, specializing strongly in corporate matters.

The presentation event took place this Thursday at La Cubierta del Monastrell, a restaurant with a distinctly Alicante character, run by María José San Román. The event, attended by approximately a hundred prominent figures from the legal, academic, business, and social sectors of Alicante, along with attendees from Madrid, was a great success, reflecting their commitment to building close professional and business relationships in the region.

Ignacio and Borja, after building their careers in large firms, joined forces to create a law firm that reflects their ideals of service and legal excellence. Summons Abogados has stood out from the beginning for its innovative approach and dedication to each case. Starting their work at their office on Serrano Street in Madrid, and now located at 92 Velázquez Street; Summons has grown thanks to the trust of its clients. The firm leads cases nationwide, with meticulous and personalized attention crucial for sustained growth and expansion.

Specialization

Summons Abogados has a team of highly specialized professionals to lead each area, including Business Advisory (Borja García Rato and José María Espinosa Mora), with a special focus on startups, the fintech market, and M&A and corporate finance operations.

Also, Litigation, Professional Civil Liability, and Insurance Law (Ignacio Montoro Iturbe-Ormaeche and Alejandra Redondo López), which provides solid defense and advice in cases of civil liability and economic criminal law, achieving significant successes in defending both individuals and large corporations.
