José María is a partner at Summons in the commercial practice, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance law, and real estate. He has extensive experience in both cross-border and domestic transactions.
His clients include large corporations, investment funds, financial institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises. He is particularly noted for his advisory work on foreign and domestic investment transactions in various sectors, especially real estate, as well as corporate, projects, and syndicated financings, debt restructurings, and pre-insolvency law.
After several years as a Senior Associate in the commercial law department at Uría Menéndez Abogados, José María joined Summons to strengthen the firm’s commercial practice.
Additionally, José María has extensive experience in corporate law and corporate disputes. He has advised on numerous board of directors’ secretariats and corporate disputes.
José María has conducted training courses within the framework of pro bono programs by the Fundación la Caixa and the Fundación Profesor Uría. He is also a collaborator with the editorial La Ley, where he has published legal articles.
